Ick! New Study Suggests Parasites Behind Sex Drive
According to a study in The American Naturalist, parasites may be the reason why we want to have sex.
The study gets pretty scientific and we don’t want to get into all the details (because it’ll make us look stupid) but essentially, a bunch of smart guys in New Zealand introduced a number of parasites into a group of snails. The ones that made it out alive were also the ones who liked to get in on with the opposite sex (in order to reproduce). There’s nothing quite like a parasite to makes us feel all sexy inside!
