Doing it Froggie style – Frogs need to get in the mood before getting in on
Just like us, it turns out that frogs need a certain ambiance in order to get in the mood. Unlike us, they don’t need Barry White and scented candles to feel amorous, they just need to get out of the city, a recent study finds.
According to researchers at Melbourne University, city noise such as traffic and construction may be the reason why the urban frog population has decreased in Melbourne. So why is the city symphony such a turn-off? Male frogs attract females with their croaks, and unfortunately, the noise is drowning out their mating call. Since city noise isn’t going away anytime soon, male frogs will have to come up with new ways to attract the ladies – we suggest polishing up on amphibious pick-up lines like “Hey baby, nice warts” and “I’d like to lick that toad!”
