The Gigi – $120 at Good for Her

The G-spot may seem like a mystery, even to women super in-touch with their bodies. The Gigi definitely has a lot going for it – the nice but not-too-intense angle at the tip allows for easily putting quite a bit of pressure on the G-spot which many women (present company included) appreciate.  The flat surface (versus a pointier tip that many G-spot toys employ) means that it is easier to stimulate the entire surface of the g-spot, giving more pleasure and a less poke-y sensation.  The toy isn’t huge either, so there are fewer worries about going to far inside and only getting a bit of coincidental G-spot stimulation.  And the real reason we’re all here – the vibration power – is divine.  There are five speeds ranging from subtle purr to beautiful buzz and five different pulsation patterns that include a steady humm, quick bursts of power, longer bursts and a rollicking roller coaster (my personal fave!)  The matte silicone finish adds to the visual allure of this pretty little thing too – the toy is water resistant making clean-up a snap and this sweet vibe is quite a pleasure to behold.

I held this sleek power tool in my hand for a moment before I figured out what to do with it.  Getting the power on seemed a slight task until I remembered that it does in fact come with instructions.  The Gigi’s power controls lock, making it ideal for travel and unlikely to start buzzing away as you gallivant to your lover’s boudoir for an evening of play.  I immediately found the vibration to be a bit different than I’m used to – the power here is subtle but deep, making for a delightfully different ride. Switching back and forth from G-spot stimulation to clit play was easy and extra fun.

Did I spray the sheets after a few whirls with the Gigi?  No.  But this is such a fun and gorgeous toy, I’m willing to keep trying as many times as it takes.

Little Teapot Dual Vibrator – $45 at www.goodforher.com

I was seduced by the shape of this little toy.  About 4 inches tall and a cone-shape, the Little Teapot really wins with the wee little spout designed to take you over the edge with some exquisitely delicious direct clit stimulation.  It looks like somebody had taken the design of The Cone, and made it smaller and allowed for more direct stimulation.  While The Cone is a pretty awesome toy, The Little Teapot is going to be a lot more usable for more people.  And where the Little Teapot really wins is for those who enjoy shallow penetration either vaginal or anal) with their vibration.

Also known as the Pleasure Top, this toy is made of non-toxic, phthalate-free TPR, and packs quite a bit of oomph off of two AAA batteries.   So while the power was good, I have to admit, the first time I tried this toy, I wasn’t sold.  It was a bit different from other vibrators I had tried, but it didn’t entirely float my boat.  Thank goodness that, in the interest of science, I gave it another whirl because this toy is really, really fun.  I managed to position it just right so that the point of the cone honed right in on my g-spot, and the little spout worked its magic with startling efficiency and uh, maximum enjoyability.

All in all, the Little Teapot is a great toy for those who are looking for a dual action vibrator without all the bells and whistles of a Rabbit-style toy.  Those of you who have been eyeing The Cone may find that the Little Teapot will offer more direct stimulation, with the added benefit of penetration.

Unless you’ve been living under a rock or you’re not a Sex and the City expert, you’ve heard about the almighty rabbit vibrators. As soon as I get ready for this innocuous looking vibe, I’m already pleased with the straight forwardness of this pretty little bunny – 2 AA batteries, four speeds and a soft jelly cover that smells oddly like one of those Strawberry Shortcake dolls of my youth. The toy is reasonably quiet, and I’m assured I won’t have to come up with any strange stories to explain the buzzing in my apartment, and I don’t have to blast the radio, either.

And… I’m pleasantly surprised! For such a basic toy, it still gives you a lot of room to play with – slipping the bunny ears around my clit gave a high-frequency buzz that surprised me with the intensely lovely sensations. The little nose on this cutie works fantastically for more direct and less tickly sensations, or go for broader coverage with the back of the toy to disperse some of the sensation. Though I expected a quick turn with this toy before writing this review, I found myself returning for seconds and thirds in a very short amount of time, and I wasn’t even pretending this was for research any more.

Now, this isn’t the highest quality toy on the market – the materials aren’t stellar and those with latex sensitivities aren’t going to want to chance the risk of a reaction. And it’s not going to last you a lifetime, but for vibrator novices or those scared away by the giant rotating shafts of traditional rabbit vibes can give this a try without having to commit to the somewhat pricey versions. Fans of cunnilingus (uh, pretty much every woman out there) will find this is a nice way to do it yourself without resorting to intense acts of contortion. The Mardi Gras Rabbit really is a party in a small, sweet package for a tiny amount of cash.

I don’t know if this is so much a review as a love letter.  I’d been admiring the Njoy Pure Wand for a looooong time, before we even got it in the store, so this is going on a year and a half.  I was hesitant to buy it for a few reasons – it’s got a pretty hefty price tag, and I was afraid that the toy wouldn’t live up to the hype.

But oh, I was wrong.  This toy is worth every single penny of it’s price tag, and is maybe the best thing ever in the history of sex toys.

The details:  This lovely toy is 1.5 pounds of pure stainless steel, measuring 8” long.  The slimmer end has a ball measuring 1” in diameter and the larger ball has a 1.5” diameter ball.  The curve is exquisite and allows for ample reach whether using it yourself or with a partner.  It’s designed especially for prostate or G-spot stimulation, and from my experience with the Pure Wand, the genius design makes it pretty much IMPOSSIBLE to miss the G-Spot when using this.

A tiny bit of lube goes a long way with this slick, non-porous toy.  I started out with the smaller end to get a feel for it’s heft and shape.  2 minutes later I’m ejaculating, and I’m not normally much of a squirter.  Since that was so much fun, I flipped it around and started in with the larger end.  The sensation was… a bit intense without being painful, and the weight of the steel inside me was something I hadn’t experienced before.  In short – it was divine.
