Apparently, that’s exactly what happened in California, and because someone found the definition of “oral sex” in Merriam-Webster’s Collegiate Dictionary offensive, the school district is pulling the dictionary from all their elementary schools.

Now forget about all the poorly spelled and misused words (that’s where spell check comes in) that these youngsters are going to pepper their book reports with. The dictionary is about as politically correct of a book as you’re ever going to find. It they can censor the dictionary, no book is safe from possible burnings.

And it’s not like the definition reads like a racy erotica novel. The very clinical and unarousing definition is: “oral stimulation of the genitals.” Certainly, it’s nothing to get your panties in a knot over. Now kids will have to find out about oral sex the old fashioned way – Googling it on the web while their parents are at work.
